1. Purpose of the App

NuMeal is designed to help users discover meals based on nutritional attributes, personal preferences, and health conditions. The App provides personalized nutrition targets, meal scoring, meal logging, glucose monitoring, and community-driven nutrition data.

In certain cases, the App may use automated tools (including AI-based analysis) to estimate nutrition information when official data is not available.

NuMeal does not provide medical, dietary, or professional health advice.

2. No Medical or Health Advice

All information provided by NuMeal is for informational and educational purposes only.

• NuMeal is not a medical device
• NuMeal does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease
• Nutrition scores, health condition-based recommendations, and glucose insights are informational tools only and should not replace professional medical advice
• You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary or health decisions

Use of the App is at your own risk.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may need to create an account using email or third-party authentication providers (such as Apple or Google).

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Misuse or attempt to exploit the App
• Upload unlawful, harmful, misleading, or offensive content
• Submit intentionally false or misleading nutrition data, reviews, or accuracy votes
• Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the App
• Use the App for commercial purposes without permission

5. User Content & Community Contributions

If you upload photos, reviews, accuracy votes, or menu item contributions:

• You retain ownership of your content
• You grant NuMeal a limited, non-exclusive license to process, display, and use the content to provide and improve App functionality
• Reviews and photos may be visible to other users after approval
• NuMeal reserves the right to moderate, remove, or reject any user-submitted content

You confirm you have the right to upload any content you submit.

6. AI-Generated Content & Estimated Data Disclaimer

Some features rely on automated analysis (including AI-based tools) and estimated nutrition data.

• AI-estimated nutrition data is clearly labeled with confidence scores
• Ingredient-level nutrition is sourced from the USDA FoodData Central (FDC) database and may not perfectly match actual restaurant preparations
• Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated
• AI-generated suggestions and nutrition scores are not guaranteed
• NuMeal does not warrant the accuracy of analyzed or estimated menu data
• Users are encouraged to review and adjust ingredient estimates when available

7. Health Features Disclaimer

NuMeal offers health-related features including personalized nutrition targets, condition-specific meal scoring, and glucose monitoring.

• Health condition-based recommendations follow published guidelines (e.g., ADA, AHA, NKF) but are simplified for informational purposes
• Glucose monitoring features display data from Apple HealthKit and are not a substitute for medical glucose monitoring devices
• Nutrition scores are personalized estimates and should not be the sole basis for dietary decisions

8. Nutrition Information Disclaimer

NuMeal provides nutrition information sourced from restaurants, public materials, the USDA FoodData Central database, and automated analysis. While we strive to present helpful and accurate information, nutrition data may not always be complete, current, or reflective of recent menu changes.

Not all restaurants publish full or up-to-date nutrition information. When data is missing or unavailable, NuMeal may rely on estimates or automated analysis.

For the most accurate and up-to-date nutrition information, users should consult the restaurant's official website or contact the restaurant directly. NuMeal does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of nutrition data.

9. Data & Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use data.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party services, including Firebase (authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting), Typesense Cloud (search), Amplitude (product analytics and session replay), RevenueCat (subscription management), AI providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI), Apple HealthKit (blood glucose data), and the USDA FoodData Central database (ingredient nutrition data).

NuMeal is not responsible for:

• Third-party content
• Third-party service availability or behavior

11. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and software associated with NuMeal are the property of NuMeal or its licensors.

You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without permission.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We make no warranties regarding:

• Accuracy of content, nutrition data, or health-related features
• Availability of features
• Fitness for a particular purpose

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NuMeal shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Health or dietary decisions made based on App content
• Data loss or service interruptions

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which NuMeal operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subscriptions and Billing

NuMeal offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings in the App Store.
